I organized the Little Daisy Market twice as part of the First Thursdays initiative to activate the Samoa House building, in collaboration with Oronegro Jewellery Studio, where I was based for my jewelry brand, Saint Cecilia. My role involved finding diverse market stallholders to create a vibrant shopping experience and coordinating acoustic music artists and bands for live performances throughout the event.
To enhance the showcase area, I arranged sound engineers and lighting technicians, and I hired a photographer to capture the day, providing visual content for future promotions. We promoted the event through the social media accounts of stallholders and music acts, creating a buzz across networks. Additionally, flyers were distributed along K Road, and I designed hand-painted signs to increase visibility around the area.
Vol. 2 of the Little Daisy Market saw around 700 attendees, a significant increase from the 300 attendees at Vol. 1. Unfortunately, the event was halted due to COVID, but these markets successfully brought together local talent and the community, furthering the cultural vibrancy of K Road.
